Set in beautiful rural countryside in the very heart of Devon, Hele Barton Farm dates back to earlier than the 1600's. The farm is now run by Paul, his wife Carolyn and son Reuben. Paul’s mother Gillian runs the cottages and helps out on the farm where needed.

We offer two detached Cottages set in the beautiful unspoilt countryside of Mid Devon.


Our converted barn is a lovely two-bedroom cottage style property. Both family size bedrooms enjoy views of the countryside, one with a four poster bed and both having their own ensuite bathroom. Sleeping up to six. This is a disabled-friendly holiday cottage, having wide doors and a downstairs wet-room.


A delightful authentic thatched country two-bedroom holiday cottage with low ceilings and beams. Sleeping up to five. Situated at Hele Lane it has views down to the riverbank. Outside there is large lawned secure garden which has beautiful flowers according to season and take in the clean Devon air. The cottage is also dog friendly, ideal for those looking for a dog friendly holiday cottage in Devon.

Our position in Mid Devon makes us an ideal base for visiting all parts of our wonderful county which is enjoyable any time of the year, whatever the weather. Devon's landscape varies from the windswept and legendary Dartmoor to the rolling coombes of Exmoor and the rugged North Devon coast with the long sandy beaches of Saunton and Woolacombe.

A great place to stay if you are looking for a walking holiday in Devon, you can join in with a local walking group on a Sunday or Monday morning. There is a pub within walking distance for meals.
